24 Hours From City

There’s no hiding the fact that this recent run of matches has been tough as an Arsenal supporter. At some point we were going to hit a rough patch, but to still be here heading into the biggest match of the season is a tough pill to swallow. The manner of it all at Brentford especially hurts, but nothing we can do about it. There’s no doubt we can alter the mood and trajectory of our season with a positive result tomorrow. Come kickoff tomorrow, form has to go out the window and we need to show up ready to go. I have zero doubt that will be the case, as Arteta has these boys raring and ready to go from the whistle all season.

I don’t anticipate Arteta will make any chances to the team that has gotten us to this point. If he didn’t to do it against Brentford, I certainly can’t see it happening against City. That means White over Tomi and Martinelli over Trossard. Frankly I think that’s what he has to do too. This is the match where you come ready to play with the culmination of what got us to this point. We’ve been struggling against teams that sit in a low block, but I can’t see City doing that. They’re going to come at us, just like we’re going to come at them. That doesn’t mean it won’t be a chess match between student, Arteta, and teacher, Pep.

The nerves are as high as they could be as we head into what has to be the biggest game in the history of the Emirates. The ground will be absolutely rocking. We can absolutely do this, but at the least we just can’t lose. A draw is a fine result we can live with. I’ll talk out of the other side and my mouth and say that if I’m Arteta you have to go for it and ensure you have no regrets. Who knows the next time we’re in this situation! Let’s be protagonists and write our own story.
